‘Give me Goodwood on a summer’s day and you can forget the rest of the world,’ said British Racing Driver Roy Salvadori

And he should know – the 1959 Le Mans winner and former Grand Prix driver who died over a decade ago, aged 90, clearly loved Goodwood.

This summer there’s a chance for family and friends to step into the sunshine at this iconic racetrack and relive some of the glory days of the past.

The Goodwood Revival returns this September for a glorious weekend of vintage delights – as it celebrates 25 years.

Top 10 Things to see and do

If you love classic and vintage cars then this is for you. You’ll get to see rare and priceless cars being driven by champions from the past and the present.

  1. Rock the vintage look

Goodwood Revival loves to celebrate the style of bygone days. So dust off your gladrags and embrace the styles of the 40s, 50s and 60s – this weekend is as much about the clothes as it is about the cars.

  1. Remembering a legend

This year would have been the 100th birthday of Carroll Shelby, the man responsible for the AC Cobra and Ford GT40. His life will be celebrated at Goodwood Revival with iconic cars from his career taking to the Motor Circuit.

  1. Crafty classics

Back in the 40s, 50s and 60s ‘make do and mend’ was the order of the day, and possessions were cared for, treasured, and treated well to ensure a lifetime of good use. This Revive & Thrive ethos is embraced at Goodwood Revival where visitors are encouraged to share tips on how to upcycle, recycle, repair, reuse and repurpose objects which helps bring forgotten skills back to life.

  1. Marvellous moments

Get ready for some star spotting. Last year the Revival welcomed household names including Jenson Button, Damon Hill, Esteban Gutierrez and many more legendary motorsport individuals. In this 25th anniversary, you can expect more great names to be on the guest list so keep an eye on the website and news for further announcements throughout the summer.

  1. Refresh yourself

Of course there’s plenty to whet the appetite on the racetrack, but off it, there’s also plenty to keep hunger at bay. You can dine in style or opt for a more casual approach with ice creams and sandwiches or catered hospitality – the choice is yours!

  1. Picture perfect

Whether you’re snapping some vintage vehicles, iconic fashion classics, or trying for some selfies with the stars there will be plenty of Instagrammable moments from the weekend so make sure your phone or camera is fully charged.

  1. Celebrating a quarter of a century

As Goodwood Revival is marking its 25th year it’s going to be an extra special weekend. Since opening its gates under the watch of Freddie March, the 9th Duke of Richmond, in 1998, the memories, celebrities and superb driving that would follow in years to come could only have been imagined.

  1. Take a trip down memory lane

There will be plenty to see and buy at the Revival stalls which will include a range of vintage and retro goods including furniture, clothing and accessories. Pick something out for yourself or shop for gifts and memorabilia for loved ones who weren’t lucky enough to attend!

  1. All the fun of the fair

Outside the Motor Circuit action there’s plenty to keep everyone occupied. For the little kids – and the big kids amongst you – there’s a fairground, or you could see vintage and second-hand treasures go under the hammer at Bonhams Auction, lose yourself in the big screen with Sky Cinema and much more at ‘Over the Road’.
