Supercomputer predicts Crawley Town's fate after poor start to League Two season while promotion race looks tense
A supercomputer has predicted Crawley Town’s fate in League Two this season following their poor start.
After just one win in the first seven games, Reds find themselves bottom of the table and fans are fearing the worst already.
And now, the Pariurix supercomputer BETSiE as run its algorithm to generate its 2026-27 EFL League Two season predictions – and no surprise, things do not look good for Colin Kazim-Richards side.
The model simulated the league season 100,000 times, accounting for all match results from pre-season, the previous campaign, and the current season to date.

It projects outcomes based on pre-season expectations, fixture difficulty, and underlying performance metrics such as xG for and against.
This season, BETSiE also integrates team financial data and player values from Transfermarkt, adding a deeper layer of insight into squad strength and potential performance variations.
Based on the simulations and the factors mentioned, here are the highlights:
- Salford are projected to finish top with an average of 75.2 points and have a 28.8% probability of winning the title.
- Barnet and Chesterfield are projected to secure the final two automatic promotion spots on the same number of points.
- Bristol Rovers, Grimsby, York City and Port Vale are currently projected to round out the top seven.
- Walsall, Swindon, Crewe, Rotherham, Colchester and Cheltenham are projected to finish just outside the play-off places.
- Accrington Stanley and Crawley are projected to face relegation.
The prediction has Crawley Town finishing bottom with a 36.6% probability of going down.
Reds’ next League Two fixture is at home to Chesterfield on Saturday, October 10.
They have had two weekends off after their matches with Barnet and Walsall were postponed due to international call ups.
