Sussex traffic: A27 reopens after serious collision; A259, A267 and A264 roadworks cause long delays
Here are the latest traffic updates from across Sussex on Friday, September 25.
AA Traffic News has reported queueing traffic on A264 Copthorne Common Road – both ways at Borers Arms Road.
The AA added: “Congestion to Turners Hill Road (Dukes Head roundabout), and back to the Copthorne Hotel roundabout. In the construction area.”
There are also long delays, in both directions, on A259 Brighton Road in Lancing. The queues are in a construction area, near the Bandstand.

According to One Network, Southern Water is responsible for the work, which has been ongoing since September 21.
In Chichester, delays on the southbound approach to Whyke roundabout are reportedly increasing. The AA reported eight-minute delays between the A27 Bognor Road and Stockbridge roundabouts, with traffic averaging five mph.
The reports follow a serious collision on the A27 Upper Brighton Road in Worthing on Thursday afternoon. A collision involving a car and a bicycle was reported at about 4.20pm, prompting a response from police, ambulance crews and firefighters. An air ambulance also landed nearby.
The eastbound road was temporarily blocked between Grove Lodge roundabout and First Avenue. Sussex Traffic Watch confirmed at 7.10pm that the A27 had cleared and reopened between Grove Lodge roundabout and the Lyons Farm traffic lights.

In East Sussex, westbound drivers on the A27 in the Wealden district – near the Milton Street turn-off – reportedly face delays. AA Traffic News says queues are increasing in the area, with traffic averaging 15mph. There are also minor delays on the westbound A27 Polegate Bypass approaching Cop Hall roundabout.
There is also queueing traffic in both directions on the A267 at its junction with the B2102 Lewes Road in Cross in Hand. AA Traffic News says this is in a construction area.
