Santa spotted out and about in Southbourne

Southbourne Lions were out and about with Santa and his Sleigh this Christmas, visiting the local area and bringing much excitement to the children when they heard carol singing from the Sleigh.

Many children were keen to have their photos taken with Santa and he was happy to oblige in return for them agreeing to be good for their parents.

As well as bringing cheer to the community during a very cold spell, Santa’s Sleigh was available for local residents to leave food donations. These were later transferred to the Love your Neighbour Food Bank at the New Life premises in Hermitage where they were available for local families in need.

Funds collected from the community during the year were, as usual at Christmas, distributed to headteachers in seven of local primary schools and Bourne Community College in the form of supermarket vouchers. Headteachers then provide these vouchers to those families most in need.
