LETTER: New north road could be hidden
Exactly as Mr Beeny (letters March 2) has suggested.
Much of any needed roadway is extant. Any new construction can be hidden by planting and banking to foreground environmental considerations.
Where is traffic from the proposed Whitehouse development to go, directed onto the already vastly over-subscribed southern by-pass? Much easier to exit to a northern route.

Hide AdWhen the upgraded A27 between Chichester and Emsworth was mooted there was much wailing and knashing of teeth that (for instance) easy connection between Southbourne and Westbourne would be lost. Travelling between the two today you hardly notice when you travel over the A27.
The tragedy for Chichester and its southern environs was the positioning of the southern by-pass 50 years ago. The wrong decision was taken then, do we have to go on compounding that original error?
