Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your corner of the High Weald? The High Weald Nature and Community Fund - formerly known as Sussex Lund - is now accepting applications for grants ranging from £500 to £20,000. The deadline is Monday 15 July 2024.

The Fund supports work that benefits nature and people across the High Weald National Landscape, including the villages and towns in and around it such as Heathfield, Crowborough, Battle, Horsham, Crawley, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Uckfield, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge, Tenterden, Rye, and Hastings.

From creating and improving wildlife-friendly spaces to helping more people connect with the natural world, the High Weald Nature and Community Fund supports a wide range of activities.

Whether you're part of a community group, a non-profit organisation, school or church, or a private landowner with a vision for public benefit, this is your chance to make a lasting difference.

The High Weald Nature and Community Fund supports projects that:

  • CREATE wildlife-friendly spaces like community gardens and orchards, pocket parks and school growing areas.
  • IMPROVE and connect habitats through initiatives such as pond creation, hedge and tree planting, species-rich grassland establishment, and installation of bird, bug, and bat boxes
  • ENGAGE communities in managing green spaces and provide training and resources for conservation efforts.
  • CONNECT underrepresented groups to nature by facilitating access to the High Weald landscape.

Please note: you must own or manage the land where you want to carry out your project, or have permission from the landowner.

Visit the High Weald National Landscape website to download the grant criteria and guidance and submit an enquiry to register your interest. Whether you already have a project in the works and need an application form or you're a newcomer in search of more information, submitting an enquiry will help us give you the support you need.
